Betis New Kit for 2009-2010
By: wan | July 6th, 2009
The start of something to smile about after the pain of dropping a division?
Behold the new kit for Betis that has just been launched for the new season. The classic home shirt still looks as good as ever and it says something about an eduring design that even after many years, the Betis home jersey never seems to go out of fashion.
Personally I am quite comfortable with the Mandarin Orange away jersey although I must say that it is not a colour that I would immediately take to. I like the third alternative shirt more – somehow the drak green hue seems to project a stylish, confident feel especially with the white collar.
However, even with something as innocent as a jersey, things are never far from controversy at Betis. If you pay closer attention, you would realise that the manufacturer’s logo on the jerseys have been replaced – we are no longer supported by Kappa. Perhaps you would think that as a result of us dropping a division, Kappa has decided to cut us loose and you would lament about how heartless and unfeeling that the business world is. You would be right if the world was aligned properly…
…But you would be wrong in this case. Word has it that it was Betis themselves who decided to cut ties with Kappa!!! What??? Yup you heard that correctly…And the reasons would explain once more why the club seems to be heading towards the mire.
The insider account of events has it that Kappa was dumped as the main uniform manufacturer because their contract was expiring. But the real deal is that Betis will use their in house RBB to make the new kit so all proceeds will go to Lopera’s pocket book even if he sells his stock by the start of the season. This coming on top of the decision to keep tickets prices the same due to the loss of TV revenue being in the Segunda division.
Such logic is staggering – clubs are supposed to cut ticket prices for offering an inferior product!!! As it stands right now, there will be many key players who will be leaving the club and the team is not expected to be as “attractive” but instead of compensating fans for their loyalty, now they are expected to continue pumping in money to keep revenue streams up!!!
For far too long have I tried to separate sporting issues from non-sporting ones and I have on more than one occassion gave the argument that off-field distractions should never be as a crux to explain Betis’ problems but it seems now that the malaise runs deeper than anyone ever thought.
So now the gloves are off…. I will be doing a full expose of the rot that is Betis and to fully illustrate the problems that they are facing…I will also be doing a through examination of Betis’ failures last season and to provide a preview of the team that we can expect from Betis for 2009-10. All that coming up in the next week…Stay tuned

I Like the orange one, it’s a bit different.

Being a Werder Bremen supporter, I have always also liked the Betis kits.
When Werder added orange in 03/04 we won the domestic double- hopefully you’ll find it similarly lifting!Posted from

p.s. Werder has also now finished their time with Kappa, let’s see what it brings for both clubs!

I thought Bremen had one year left with Kappa? They must of focused on Valencia instead I assume.

Every time we go down a division more fans show up. it happened 9 years ago when we fell and will happen again so why would lopera drop ticket prices? Any one have 44 million euros i can borrow to buy betis?? apparently thats all he wants for them.
