To Kent y Wan: Please write a blog, preferably a very long one, on one of the greatest heros to ever don a Betis jersey. I’m speaking of course about Edu. It would be much appreciated and for him it is much deserved. Especially after the way Lopera disrespected him and attemted to low ball him to the point way he has said he will look for other options.

F-No. I was speaking to my suspicions that most Sevilla fans west of The Algarve have, let’s say, come to the team during this recent rise to decency. Credit to ‘em, but Sevilla’s not Barcelona-lite and many of their fans across “the Internets” seem to conveniently forget their clubs history from even the 1990s. And, while I’m really angry at what De Lopera’s done to the club, at the team for fucking around on the pitch in so many games this year, at a hell of a lot, this club NEEDS a cleansing.

BTW, did you SEE the goal difference with Sporting vs. Betis?

Sorry Kent, just had to add salt in the wounds with that one. I’d be lying if I said I’m not going to miss the infamous Sevilla derby next year but I’d also be lying if I said I’m not a very happy man right now due to your sorrows.

The best part of relegation is that De Lopera will hopefully go away. I’d like to thank the lunacy of this Betis side and, less so, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Sevilla for collectively going home when each played Osasuna to end the season. Betis didn’t get it done and points matter.

There’s really no excuse for them going down. As f-up as they’ve been this season they were/are not one of the three worst teams. But again, points matter…and goal differential matters; the latter condemned Betis.

Sorry all, but my life’s so busy, that you won’t likely see me here much. Hell, I don’t know how to even follow a team from La Segunda. My suggestion is that college students drinking Cruz Campo and “studying” in Spain and soccer fans new to La Liga follow Sevilla…they’re “popular” after all. Or, if you want life easy, follow Real Madrid or Barcelona, one’s always safe with them.

Betis now follows a recent and every increasing line of clubs better than the drop, but clubs that dropped nonetheless (Zaragoza, Celta, Real Sociedad). Crazy league it is. Betis will be back, Getafe, Malaga, Almeria, Racing, Sporting, Osasuna + the three coming up don’t have the resources to ever be safe.

Clean house!
